More detailed documentation for each step of this guide can be found in the HaloPSA Academy or by following the links to our guides page. Your requirements may vary but this shows the setup required to set up most of the key areas of HaloPSA.

  1. Import Clients from billing tool if applicable (Xero/QBO/Sage), or CSV if not applicable.
  2. Setup Azure Active Directory for Agent Single Sign On to the Agent Web Application and End User Portal, import Agents and test they can log in to Halo Web App using Microsoft credentials, ideally you want this to be a Multi Tenant application so Users can authenticate to their portal using Microsoft credentials after Users have been imported by CSP.
  3. Setup CSP Integration to import users and map tenants to your already imported Customers. You can also bring in subscriptions/licences from CSP.
  4. Migrate Tickets if required, from the previous tool using CSV imports or one of the migration tools. The majority of ticket data should be archived in a spreadsheet. It is only worth adding the last 3-6 months of ticket data.
  5. Setup Organisation(s), Departments and Teams.
  6. Setup Roles, configure 1 role then clone and tweak permissions per role, you can map Security Groups to Roles in Halo so Agents can be imported from Azure with correct permissions.
  7. Setup Email Templates.
  8. Setup Mailboxes.
  9. Setup Agent Email Signatures. This can be configured per agent, per mailbox, per client, or nothing. Check out this guide for more Email Configuration (High Level).
