If you are self-hosted (On-Prem), you may sometimes see error messages referring to IronPDF when generating a PDF or attachment. This guide will cover files to check.

Failed to generate pdf: Failed to create PDF - Error while deploying Pdfium for IronPdf: 'Invalid assembly version for 'IronPdfInterop'

Failed to generate pdf: Failed to create PDF - Error while deploying IronPdf Chrome renderer: 'Multiple issues occurred while trying to deploy Chrome (Invalid assembly version for 'IronInterop' 

Stop the Halo site in IIS, delete these two files from "\api\runtimes\win-x64\native", then start IIS again.

  • IronPdfInterop.dll
  • Pdfium.Native.deployment.json

If this does not fix the error, make a copy of the "/runtime" folder and remove everything in the original folder. Then, try the same process of stopping IIS, delete the files, start IIS, again.
